About the Authors

Jennifer Stephens and Arthur Stephens are archaeological photographers.  They record archaeological sites, excavations, post-excavation activities, artifacts, and historical documents for archaeologists and for archaeological projects in Italy and Greece. In addition, Jennifer creates designs and layouts for publications and exhibitions, and Arthur provides plans and technical diagrams. They have developed their own equipment and techniques to record historical standing structures accurately and in a nondestructive manner and have worked as a team to create the photomosaics and supporting materials in this book.

Their photomosaics and photographs have been included in archaeological books and monographs; academic papers and journals such as Hesperia, The New Griffon, the Sarawak Museum Journal, and the Journal of Roman Archaeology; museum catalogues; and periodicals including Archaeology Magazine, Current World Archaeology, World Monuments ICON, and The New York Times. Their work has been displayed with archaeological exhibitions in fourteen museums in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
